i8 Wheels on an i3

Has anyone tried to put i8 wheels (model 625) on their i3?

I have access to a set of wheels only and was wondering how they fit.

I expect that adding the i3s fender flares is a must.

I am wondering about any inside rubbing on the chassis or suspension parts.

I've heard of this being mentioned on i3 Facebook groups but not seen it actually done yet. If you have access to the wheels why not give it a try?

Had problems with tire rubbing when test-fitting i8 wheels on a i3S in the rear.

That's very helpful info. I wasn't sure where the extra 3" of width would fit. I have tried to compare the offsets but it really hard to get a good sense of parts that will rub if there are no tires on the wheels.

I know that the 625's are wider (7.5" and 8.5") than other i8 wheels. I think there is a 7" version with a 7.5" rear. Those might work with the right offset.

Did you try the 625's on the i3S or a different model?

It was on a i3s, assuming the extra width from the flares would provide enough coverage. Stepping the i8 rear tires down (or running 4 fronts) would probably have provided the clearance to run.
