BMW i8 Charging with Supplied 110V
I was hoping some of you might help me. Currently, I have a 2019 BMW i8 Coupe - when I charge overnight with the supplied 110V charger to the wall, I get about 15 miles electric after 14 hours charging. This seems really low and was expecting to fully charge to at least 30 miles after such a long charge. Do any of you guys have any experience with this? I'm debating if I should get the Level 2 charger.
Most appreciate it. |

My 2016 coupe would charge to about 14 miles of max electric range. My 2019 roadster can be charged to approximately 31 miles of electric range. I would suspect that the electric motor, gas engine and engine management system (here is the part where I will be told that I did not identify multiple other performance variables) is the same regardless of Coupe or Roadster. As such, your 2019 coupe should charge to approximately 31 miles after 14 hours of charging (about 8.50 hours for me on a rural Colorado grid).
