I would never buy a red car, but it's painfully obvious to me as well.

Since this paint will be in the booth at Leipzig, I highly recommend some get splashed on an M2 or M2 CSL for fun ..
Still looks the very best in Black !

Umm.. I see this on the boards a lot. There is no Black I8, only a Dark metallic grey. Understandable because it looks very dark in certain lighting, but no black

That's grey. The car doesn't come in black. But I agree it's the best color for the car.

Sorry don't like it nearly as bad as the grey. These cars look best in light colours when the black panels and accents show up

Since the Pure Impulse "Limited Edition" is gone they needed some other way to jack of the margins by $8k for red paint.

The Red is to get you to opt for by the looks of it expensive options of Laser lights and Carbon fibre may even be cheaper than adding same options to a standard one

It may look black on pictures, but it's a very dark grey. Easy to see in daylight when you compare the paint to the black panels on the body. There is no real black as a paint option for this car right now.

Meh just wrap it. This summer I'm wrapping mine satin chrome red which looks AMAZING. I'll upload pics once done. Way better than just plain ol red. You can wrap a car almost any finish / color you can dream of nowadays for not to much & take it off & do something else when you get bored all while protecting the paint underneath.

Have you seen cars being wrapped? All the stuff the have to take off? That turns me off. Somehow, I don't want all the panels pulled off by a backyard shop (okay, that's being a bit unfair - maybe) just to change the color of the car.

Red. Finally. My wife's favorite color. Too bad it's not Imola red.

I agree that some red needs to be "oops" onto an M2.

Really don't like red other than on a Ferrari. A vintage at that. Each to their own.

The red looks good but hard to see the depth of the graceful lines.

I just got my white pure impulse (2015 edition) and so far liking it. My ONLY wish was if BMW put in an eRange of 25miles instead of 15.

Thanks for the pic. It does look nice. But in this color, people will mistake it for a Ferrari all the time. Now, who would want that?

I've come very close - on a flat run, not letting it roll downhill : http://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=56

Funny, for a while the e range discussions here were very active. That has pretty much died down. I guess everyone's content with their cars now ...

I wrapped mine Matte Metallic Grey at a shop that has wrapped countless exotics including 3 Pagani Huayras, and at least one 918 Spyder. I slept like a baby the three nights it was away being wrapped. To be honest with the quality of wraps and installation specialists nowadays, to offer a special edition with a paint option as the main selling point is as pathetic as it gets.

Content is the not what I am about the electric range, but I have accepted it and optimized my driving style to get the most of out it. My disappointment is more around BMW go to market with the i8 since I am an early 2014 adopter......whatever though.
