Does i8 have Takata Airbags?

Surely not! But Takata is still supplying the automotive industry with ammonium nitrate propellant airbags through 2018 with permission from NHTSA with the condition that they can be recalled or demonstrated safe by 2019. To date 30 million vehicles have been recalled for defective airbags but 120 million more may be recalled next. For model years 2000 to 2015 Takata airbags were installed in 260-285 million vehicles.
