On a highly related note: When in eDrive mode and you punch it hard off the line does anyone else's initially pull off hard but then (assuming there is traction) seems to cut power after a 1.5 seconds or so for 500ms? It's almost like a safety cutoff , very harsh and abrupt.

Could anyone else test this?
That's traction control kicking in, and yes it feels unduly harsh.

I suspect traction control on the e-motor can be more instant than on a gas engine - you don't have lots of mechanical things like pistons and flywheels moving around that need a bit of time to slow down!

But I had TC turned off and it does this!? With TC on, its less harsh and very TC feely. With TC off, something else happens.. can you guys give it a test (TC Off, dry road)?

Likely a software thing but would expect the compute to allow more wheel slip with TC off. Have you tried both levels of traction control off?

I'll have a play next time it's dry in England

I’m experiencing the same issue. My car has been at the dealer for almost 2 months. They cannot figure it out. They couldn’t duplicate the problem on another i8. So it appears not all i8s are affected.

Has anyone had this problem rectified?

Anyone ever find an answer to this?

Same thing is happening with mine, usually in edrive.
My friend says it's normal and it occurs to him as well but he notices the TC indicator blink on the dash when it happens, but I never see TC come on.

My dealer hasn't seen it before and thinks it's a big issue and is now dealing with Germany to see if they can find a solution. Software and reprogramming has not helped thus far.
