Interesting. But as Ranchroundel’s wife and my friends have noticed: the tone on the 2019 seems deeper from the outside of the car. One would think that some of that could be heard with the top down but maybe we are indeed hearing the inside speakers. The valet at my building also mentioned a deeper exhaust tone when I arrive which was interesting. Last edited by Barago; 07-01-2019 at 08:06 PM.. |

Currently driving a loaner roadster while my i8 coupe (2015) is in for repair (2nd time fuel tank depressurization is failing).
My observations: -Roadster attracts much more attention!! -Top down above 70mph is absolutely horrible -Coupe feels more nimble to drive! -Seats, HUD and range are minor improvements and definitely not worth the current premium to "trade up" as we do not have these very attractive leasing fees in my country |

Returned a 2019 roadster loaner yesterday as my 2015 coupe's service had been completed.
Don't get me wrong, there are many things to like about a roadster, but the weight difference (even though it is only 110kg) would prevent me from making a swap. Completely different car to drive and I do prefer the AGILITY of the PFL coupe. Coupe feels much more like a sports-car. My 2 cents. |

(Subjective) but the soft top totally kills it for me. My neighbor picked up a roadster (I have a coupe) and even his kids said "his car looks cooler" (referring to mine- might be cause mines frozen black) to which I didn't want to say anything, but the coupe definitely looks more futuristic/sporty to me. Haven't driven it yet- yet don't want to. The roadsters definitely a beauty (only with the top down) but I'm definitely happy with my coupe

I actually now think my all blacked out roadster looks more exotic with the giant lambo/Mclaren style humps aka flying buttresses when compared to my previous coupe- and I adored my coupe.
In fact quite a few of my friends- especially the ladies- have mentioned to me how hot/sexy the roadster is. I thought it might get less love/attention since no frozen blue etc. but I was very wrong. This thing is sinister. That being said- a stock 2017 frozen black coupe may look even cooler to some since that matte look is also great. Last edited by Barago; 07-11-2019 at 06:40 AM.. |
