Does preconditioning warm/cool the battery in addition to cabin?
Does anyone know if preconditioning warms/cools the battery pack?
For example when the car is parked outside in the cold, will it use the heat pump to warm the battery pack for optimal operation. |

I have found that my economy on mornings when preconditioning was set is better than those when it wasn’t. This is anecdotal though since the manual makes no mention of the main battery being heated as part of preconditioning.

Thanks. I guess one way to find out is by turn off AC/heating in both cases, and see if efficiency is still better with preconditioning.

It appears that for i3 and i4, preconditioning will precondition the battery if and only if the car is plugged in. Perhaps what hugo_nz observed was when the car was plugged in?
