Missing radiant heat after software update
It was a colder morning in Toronto today, and I noticed the radiant heating setting has disappeared from my climate menu.
Anyone else? |

It was definitely there before…I only remember because I had no idea what it was!

I assume this is the answer. It's missing from my climate controls as well, however when I go into climate control settings, there is a toggle for "Heat surfaces and seat" that was on. I guess it activates depending upon cabin temp?

Could be wrong but I thought I read a software update has integrated it with seat heating, to clean up the HVAC UI.
FWIW this is what the manual says as of today: |

I have a feeling that BMW SOTA does not work, just like Porsche and Audi Taycan....OTA advertised, but zero OTA updates. |

You need to reach out to your service advisor.
Have them check if there should have been a OTA update based on your car's current software version. My X5 came with OTA updates and there was an issue in my specific car that prevented them from working. After they updated it manually, they worked fine and I have done several of them since then. But to be honest, the only feature of any importance released was the android auto update. As long as the car works fine, it shouldn't need to be constantly updated. If you ever want the service center to update it, they *might* not be allowed to do it for free. The trick is to report issues with bluetooth connections in your car with several different devices that might get fixed by a software update. That reason will authorize them to do the update for free. |
