You need better clients, lol. My last client when I was still in public practice was super fun. My expense budget for meals and entertainment was $550,000 per year.
And the cherry on top of the day.....a debt letter for a subagent for $737. If he doesn't pay, I have to. He is getting a nasty email shortly.

$550,o00 expense budget? So, even if you charge me $300/hr for an hour, I could probably get a hell of a meal out of it?

Yep. It was pretty crazy. I'd take my team on a site visit for a week to one of the locations in Providence, RI - put everyone up at the Renaissance Hotel at the Capital, run $1,000 meals through for the team every night, and still come out under budget for that week.

I don't know who agreed to that, but it was certainly fine by me. My annual bill to this client was only around $3million, so it was a shockingly high expense budget compared to actual fees collected.

U.S. formally requests extradition of Meng Wanzhou to face financial fraud charges

Canada has received a formal request from the United States for the extradition of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou, officially starting the clock on a complex process that could ultimately see her sent stateside to face multiple charges of financial fraud.

Federal Justice Minister David Lametti has until March 1 to determine whether to issue an authority to proceed.

It's getting interesting.

I'll be glad to see her gone. I know there's a process but in this circumstance the time it takes is just ramping up the rhetoric all round.

Countries that have excluded or are actively considering barring Huawei from 5G development/government contracts:
---*---Country/Territory--------Status
--FN---United States------------Banned, Lobbying Allies to Follow Suit
-FEN--United Kingdom---------Evaluating Potential Ban, Ban in place by BT
--FN---Canada------------------Evaluating Potential Ban
--F----Australia-----------------Banned
--F----New Zealand------------Banned
--EN--Germany----------------Considering Ban
--EN--Poland-------------------Considering Ban
--EN--France-------------------Might Consider Ban, Upping Security
-------Japan--------------------Banned

*Member of supranational organization-
F=Five Eyes, E=European Union, N=NATO

For the purposes of my chart here:
"Banned" here is used loosely to mean that effectively (de facto), Huawei has no future in the said country/jurisdiction's telecommunications infrastructure. It includes preliminary/partial bans. Future/formal legislation may still be necessary.
"Considering ban" means one or more government officials within current administration have already announced intention to move towards barring Huawei from 5G development.
"Evaluating potential ban" here should be taken to mean that there is public and governmental debate as to how to combat the alleged threat that Huawei poses (or whether it is even a threat that warrants a ban) where one or more government officials may have expressed opinion, but there are no concrete plans or agreement within the current administration/government.
Exclusive: EU considers proposals to exclude Chinese firms from 5G networks https://reut.rs/2sW2iFt

It's now possible that the entire EU will potentially exclude Chinese firms (not limited to Huawei) from 5G network technology & development.
Early stages so far, but worth observing.

It's kind of magical......I am a bit of a sick fuck but I'm loving the schadenfreude.

I don't want it to end too soon, I want that lying hypocrite to spin a bit more.

Why do I have a feeling that this is literally going to take the next two years? If Canada decides not to extradite her to the USA, the United States government is going to flip the fuck out.

Apparently she's also getting ready to sue the United States government.

Yes, and on the other side, you have the Chinese government literally slobbering over the SNC-Lavalin attempted interference by Monsieur Trudeau....and the obviously contradictory statements thus made by the same clown.

October 2019. With any luck, a new government in place then, who can either separate the AG and Minister of Justice roles, or tell the Chinese to stuff a sock in it because that was a previous government's issue.

The appeals process in Canada is painfully slow and complex.

I am not surprised in the least. The current Canadian government is such a bunch of pansies, that I have no doubt they will acquiesce to the ChiComs sooner or later......and the PRC knows this too.
