2019 i3 rex questions
So been a few years but got a great deal on a 2019 bmw i3 120ah with range extender.
Are these models different when trying to code. Is the full gas tank fully available or is that something ill have to unlock via coding. And coding still has to be done for hold state of charge, folding mirrors etc? Any tips for this newer model. Excited to have this car again and need a refresher on the newer model. Thanks in advance |

The rules stated that electric range needed to exceed the gas range. You have the larger battery therefore your electric range exceeds the gas range and your fuel capacity is already unlocked. Meaning you are able to use the full 2.4 gallons available.
The “hold state of charge” still needs to be unlocked via a coding change for US cars. It’s easy to do. Folding mirrors too. |

Nope…
Just enjoy what I believe is one of the coolest, least understood cars out there. Why lug around a heavy battery that kills your endurance when the majority of people drive trips well within the range of the i3 battery. Having a little scooter REx engine can take the place of a larger battery at 1/3 the weight for the range gained. And completely solve range anxiety knowing all you need to do is stop and pump in another 2.4 gallons. Genius. Last edited by Coastali8; 06-10-2022 at 09:09 PM.. |
