My apologies that I made an inappropriate comment that may offend current i8 owners. No hard feelings and congrats on your purchase. The i8 is a sweet car no doubt. I plan to get one myself in a couple years (Waiting to see how the NSX 2.0 is), but I just don't see the point paying extra on a semi-mass production car.

I guess I'm more practical when it comes to want and need. If a car is limited to 300 cars, and if I can afford it, I would pay extra as well. But never a car that depreciate, has a long life cycle and eventually an update/replacement.

Yes, pay extra and be happy but that feeling will eventually end and comes with a thinner wallet. 100k less is 100k less no matter how fat one wallet is right?

New Century BMW in SoCal had this exact model on sale several weeks ago with a 40k markup (down from 80k markup) and they couldn't sell the damn thing.

I guess this guy didn't have 2 cents left in his head to call around for the car instead of paying 100k premium.

[QUOTE=MalibuBimmer;17233964]Weatherford BMW has 1 2014 Pure Impulse World i8 listed on its website. The price shown is list. But who knows what surprises will greet the caller or visitor to

They will take $20k over sticker for this white one. I passed on it and found a blue one instead.

I totally agree 100k is too much. I paid over MSRP but it was less than 10k over. Is it worth it? Yes if you want to enjoy the car asap. There's something about having a car that others don't have. Remember, 10k for a guy making 100k/yr is like 2k to someone making 500k. Premium gets relatively cheaper as income/wealth goes up. It might be too much for you/myself but most rich people don't give a shit - and it has nothing to do with limited production or anything rational for that matter.

Drop ship sale

My SoCal dealer just delivered an i8 to a local SoCal buyer who actually bought the car from a NorCal dealer. It was drop shipped here. (silver/PI) Apparently it was some type of $100k over msrp deal, according to my dealer, who only got a small fee for the PDI and delivery. While my dealer also sold his first two cars for well over msrp, neither were quite at the +$100k mark.
I didn't even know dealers were drop-shipping i8's, but I suppose money talks.
