You must be high. The NSX beat i8 on everything. The handling is much much better than i8, so I don't believe you when you said you drove one. my tesla P90D goes 0-60 in 2.7 sec all day, I guess it's better than ur i8

Funny, how all the non-i8-owning (and non-NSX-owning) trolls come out of the woodwork on something like this.
Point is, the article is wrong from the the start. The i8 and the NSX are NOT competing in the same space. The NSX is trying to be a low-cost La Ferrari - ICE dominance with a KERS thrown in for boost. It has no electric range to speak of, so is not a real hybrid. The i8 is exploring a different path entirely. It's not out to achieve ultimate performance. Hence the "i" sub-brand, rather than the "M" badge. It was designed to be reasonably fast (and it's more than that) while showing that this can be achieved with a much reduced eco footprint - and in style. Sure, you can get faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile times with more power, yada yada yada. But does that really make for a better driving experience overall? So, stop the comparisons. There's nothing out there that compares with an i8 as an overall philosophy. |

I'm pretty sure that the i8S (whose prototype in form of the Formula E pace car was already reviewed here http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/mo...r-driven-track) will be much quicker. It will definitely have a more powerful electric motor, a revised engine (some say it will be a bigger one) and more battery capacity.

I'm baffled by the 0-60 times. Car and Driver got 3.6 seconds last year in their instrument testing and I believe they got 3.7 this year. The 4.4 is still "quick" but a far cry from what my butt dyno feels

This thread will be 90% kids with 3ers and such complaining about the i8's "lack of power".

I don't understand why there is so much hate on the i8 - especially on the internet.
In person, I get a lot of praise for the car but it is totally opposite online. My guess is that the people who bash on it are the people who can't afford it and if they were in the position to buy a $100k+ car, they would want something that is best bang for the buck for speed. There are a handful of i8 owners with other super cars so having another fast car is not their priority. |

The new NSX is basically a Japanese Porsche 918 for less, with two less cylinders. It seems that with all the reviews, the Honda is starting to get a lot of respect, it's time many take the blinders off. They created a world reknowned car before, one that influenced the Mclaren F1. And embarassed Ferrari. |
