BMW map shows wrong location for my home address

My home was new construction back in 2020, the address was wrong with google map and uber, but they are fixed overtime. However, in BMW map, I found my home address is pointing to another location and the location of my car (in my garage) is a strange address. So I have to make the "strange" address as my home address to temporarily make it work.

Is there anyway I can submit a address bug request to BMW or "HERE"? I can't find a way to do so with HERE, as I can only see developer oriented APIs.

You can submit changes at https://mapcreator.here.com/, might take a long time to propagate to vehicles though (the map update I got on my iX last week seems to be a snapshot from April 2022).

Thanks! I can confirm from the here creator app, that the street name (in front of my home) on the map is wrong, that's why my actuals street address is showing at a different location. I just forced to mark my home with the correct address. But it won't affect the road name in front of my house.

For now I would just use the wrong address in my car, it doesn't worth it to go back and forth with "HERE".

Quick question, did you get the map update at dealership or using your phone?

Map updates are over the air, are seperate and more frequent than iDrive OTA updates.

It's worth putting in edits into the MapCreator app even if it takes time (a few months) for it to make it to a map update. I've added/corrected roads, businesses, addresses, and driveways. Here is used by BMW, VAG, and MB so your updates will have a positive impact on quite a few users of their maps.

My neighborhood was built in 2019. Although HERE shows that there are streets, it has no names or addresses. I submitted a map error. We’ll see home long it takes them to do an update. I can’t even set a home location since nothing exists. How is it that Google had our streets very quickly and this vendor doesn’t have them after 4 years.

Crowd sourced data is good but it relies on contributors. Google has a bigger budget to source data from various methods along with crowd sourced data from Waze. Here doesn't have the same budget and they missed the boat in acquiring Waze which would have been a good acquisition at the time for either Here or Apple. I'm not here to make excuses for Here but they do give us an opportunity to help correct the mistakes -- or live with the omissions.

I modified it with the correct address. But not sure if they can fix the street name for the whole street. Hopefully they can. Google/Waze/apple they have broader audience, and have more customer support I would assume. Here is more 2B oriented, it depends on if there happens to be a HERE user in your neighborhood to help report the issue.

But I am pretty shocked they didn't obtain the correct address from USPS....

USPS is the least reliable source of information. Maybe it's just my own experience in Northern VA and here in Western Washington and things are different elsewhere. However, addresses are assigned by local government, usually at the county level, and not USPS.

It took me about 10 years for the back half of my street to show up on Google and all other maps even though the satellite image clearly showed the road continuing with houses. I didn't mind being incognito. I just had to tell folks to turn onto my street and keep driving until a house stops you from going further.

haha, true. Since we moved here, the USPS has been able to make correct delivery, so I thought their system must be really good.

But it is a shame that the 2b solution maps can not do as good as other map providers. The money is too easy.
