Lease Numbers 2019

Local Dealer just got back to me on BMW i8 - 148k Coupe for $1685/month for 36/10k miles. Taxes rolled in. Should I take it?

It's not a great deal. Assuming about an 8% tax rate and $0 down, it's the exact lease special currently offered on BMW's website ($1400/mo pre-tax with $6k down).

Back when the advertised lease special was $1800/mo and $9k down a few months ago, I was offered several deals around $1600/mo with $0 down. By that logic and considering dealer inventories are even higher now than they were then, you should be able to haggle a lot lower.

You'd be surprised. Some are still holding on to msrp and say "even 5k off is too much" to which I simply reply "shows your dealership knows nothing about supply/demand". The demand for these vehicles are no longer there considering there are 450 2019 i8s available.

Maybe in April or May they'll start getting desperate
