I had to cancel last minute as our new born was a bit unsettled and i did not feel like a 700 miles round trip was right for her. At least i get to see the pics. Thank you!

I said it above, but will repeat it. Pure Impulse membership cost me nil. And my i8 does not have the PI package.

So, yes the event was well worth it, with an infinite return on my investment, if you want to put it in monetary terms

Not all were UK cars, but there were in fact around 30 i8 cars that turned up. That was just the main hotel car park. Others were parked out of shot.

That's very nice for you, and I congratulate you on a good deal. But I guess you know that you're the exception. Those comments on the PI package, though somewhat driven by Schadenfreude, and therefore unfair, were directed at all those people out there who got suckered in to the PI package with the tale that they'd get the car faster.

In my case at least, I declined PI, seleted the options out of it that I wanted, and ended up getting the car around the same time that I was promised with PI. So forgive me if I push this button every so often, even if it doesn't apply to you personally.

Sorry to hear that and I hope she is now fully well.

Glad you enjoyed the pics

I did not take PI, and to be honest there was zero pressure from my dealer for me to take it. Certainly no mention of it making for quicker delivery. (I'm in UK btw in case that's a US thing.)

I did not take PI because (i) it was poor value for money, and (ii) I wanted the white interior. I did of course separately take the options from it that I wanted.

I've no idea why I got the PI membership. I did not negotiate or ask for it. I suspect it is because my car was delivered/built a couple of weeks late, and cars with that build date came with PI as standard - along with a price hike.

Either way, I'm happy and I love my i8

The PI Design pack is no longer available here in the UK but all newly registered cars do now come with PI membership for the owner.

Just took delivery of my 2016 this weekend.

£3k of retailer credit since it was late 6 weeks due to a gearbox fault in the factory and a shipping issue

Pros and cons of not being an early adopter I guess

I can be a royal pain in the a$$ when I put my mind to it. I suspect it was to make me go away.

If there is another event in the lakes I'll definitely go.

JasH Just out of curiosity how did you go setting up the pure impulse card?

I was expecting something in the glovebox.

Is it posted?

It came in the post from Germany, and was a complete surprise. It was many weeks after the car arrived. It comes in a relatively huge box.

I had to ask for it as it got forgotten. Have been told that BMW has quite some delays in handling Pure Impulse requests.

I got a £4K dealer deposit contribution around dec15 if that counts as a discount ;-) ipure card came about 6 weeks later, though I did contact ipure direct as soon as I took delivery, as my dealer was a bit clueless about it

Excellent deal then £4k off is a discount, however they dress it up

I bought an i8 and i3 but was told no discounts whatsoever on i cars, but they offered discounts on normal series cars

5% corporate discount through my employer plus 16% currency discount when the artificial Euro/Franc ratio got dropped. I guess I can't complain about not getting a PI card ...

Sweet. Great to see a group having what must have been a ton of fun.
Firmed up my choice of Sophisto grey; waffling on grey or blue trim.
What a wonderful car!
I find Jas' pics superior to the ones on the BMW site.
