Deal check
Not sure why I'm doing this since the purchase is already a foregone conclusion, but what do you guys think about this deal?
Well-optioned new 2021 base BEV (Tera, H/K audio, moonroof, tech/driving assistant, parking assistant, heat pump). $54k MSRP $11k PenFed incentive $4k dealer discount $39k including all dealer "fees," but before my local taxes/registration, and before the $7,500 federal tax rebate. No local rebates here, sadly; f'ing Illinois actually charges $150 MORE for EV registration supposedly to make up for lost gas tax revenue. |

While I'm in a completely different country, prices may still be somewhat comparable.
When I ordered my 2020 i3s last year, it came out at what today is 40.500usd. That was a pretty fully loaded car, ticked all the boxes except no moon-roof and just the standard interior. All in all 39.000 does not sound too bad. Edit: Forgot to say that my price included a BMW campaign discount and an 8% company discount my employer had with BMW. Total discount was 12.000usd, making the original price 52.500 before discounts.

deal!
You're essentially @ dealer invoice aka 7% off (with that dealer discount of 4k).
Considering the car market/climate, I personally think i3's are one of the only cars that BMW is willing to somewhat deal and discount. Go for it! And that PENFED incentive is fantastic! |
