traded in R8 as well for an i8

Hello Everyone,

Things i like about the i8 so far.

1. The R8 sucked gas like there was no tomorrow.
I wasn't particularly driving the R8 like a maniac either.

2. A lot more comfortable then the R8.

3. Launch control is insane in the membrane.

4. Swan doors.

5. Lower insurance cost.

6. I can fit various items on the back seats.

7. I get to drive in the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes due to the car being "GREEN".

8. The bird's eye-view camera is pretty freakin' cool.

Congratulations on your purchase.

Your point on gas thirsty sports cars is well taken. One glaring difference between the i8 and other high performance cars is its infrequent visits to the gas pump. Besides being the least expensive sports car to maintain for me, its mpg delivery is absurd for the amount of performance and fun that it delivers.

Thanks YWGT3. I haven't been to the gas station yet, but i think i'll go during the middle of the night due to all the attention i'm getting just driving the thing down the road.

Also "in rare cases the tank venting can last several minutes" which is kinda strange when filling up the car.

Never had to wait more than 5 seconds or so. It takes longer to open the door and get out of the car.

I agree with all your points; except I for mini-me humanoids (<5'3").

I also gets lot of gawking, picture taking and conversations with the unique look of the car. Thx for sharing.

Thanks for replying mptpa. I'll delete the humanoids comment. I don't want to offend anyone.

I can second this. As the former owner of two V8 and one V10 R8, the i8 is absolutely as fun and a blast to drive
