Rear brake upgrade
Evening all
Has anyone looked into upgrading the rear calipers on their i8 to the F30 type Brembo ones? Fronts are basically identical caliper housings - and would like the rear to match up rather than the slightly mismatched ones it left the factory with!. |

Careful with that. Uneven brake force distribution can lockup the rear wheels... Causing significantly diminished braking performance. And possibly even loss of control under heavy or emergency braking conditions. It's why ABS was first invented and used on rear brakes. As the less weight as it transitioned under braking would cause rear tires to lock and cars to spin out much easier.

Just ended up painting the fronts and rears - will replace the rears if I can get a set of the brembos which take the electric handbrake motor, but they're fine as it stands...
Got these caliper decals from the UK - Fitted them up and lacquered over them Finished product - |
