12k miles 8000 down $1499/mo Thoughts? I hate leasing and think I can do better... |

Wait a few months if you're not up for shopping around. You shouldn't put ANY money down on a lease

Mr. Sugar Skulls, I agree. I leased a 3 series years ago when I had to get rid of my 2 seater because of a pending daughter and didn't put anything down.

Check out autotrader, and if you really want to pick one up right now- I'd call the dealers who are offering their sales price in the mid 120 range to get a decent deal for the summer

I am kind of happy with my F10 right now and its lease payments. However, I never thought you could pick up an i8 for 1K/ month; that is pretty nice for that MSRP.

I'm not sure if bmwfs lease rates/ incentives are the same now as for July - if this is the case I can point you to the dealer in Mass that can get you Blue 2016 for around 1250+ - PM me

But it's often times harder to get approved for it since you must be equal to or a greater candidate than its previous leasee. People often get denied to take over a lease because of this reason, but qualify for a new lease.

You can still technically "lease" a 2015 but on a dollar based program- which is pretty much a finance- so the deals are terrible.

Went through it first hand. I had already leased 2 M6s, got bit by the i8 bug- tried to take over one- denied- went to my dealer to do the trade out of my m6- approved.

So essentially your credit score has to be equal or higher than the current owner of the lease like you said - any other factors?

So they look that your credit score/credit line history/debt to income ratio be as strong if not stronger than previous individual. High credit scores obviously don't mean much if your credit lines are small. Standard score to qualify at the top rate for a new lease is 675. (As in you won't get any better rates if you have an 800 or 680) that's why it's easier to qualify for a new lease than take over It is however up to you to make sure you know how to work out a good deal and not just jump on the first thing they offer you. I get off negotiating which is how I was able to get quoted some really good numbers on my deal.
