After doing enough track days you learn that horsepower is not the end all be all of enjoyment.
Why do you think these things will not be a cheap pos (its a cheapo toyota) with tons of typical BMW mechanical and electrical issues? Any sort of Toyota dependability and reliably is out the door with this bastard.

If you are happy to pay more for refinement just go buy a Porsche. Given its 50k rumored price tag, why not just pay a little more for a M2 or a cayman ?This car is just a cheapo pathetic attempt to milk people using the Supra name.

If you really want refinement and do track days how the hell is your choice a +50,000 toyota badge Z4 and not an M2 ?

I'm already driving a m240i which is perfect for me right now.
It makes a comfortable daily driver that I can take to the track occasionally.
But right now I'm doing track days on my motorcycle, much cheaper and even more fun 😁

Honestly the reason I don't have a Porsche Cayman is I love having back seats. The flexibility of having them come in handy too often.

The last time I tracked a car was when I had my 2015 Corvette Z51. That was an absolute blast.
I did the Ron fellows Corvette school in Nevada and loved it.

Why is your benchmark an M2? Plenty of faster track cars than that for less money.

The interior pieced together. It looks a little boring. :/ Hoping maybe the real thing will look a bit better.

The steering wheel doesn't even have paddles. That's nowhere near the Supra for my money.

I think they just forgot to include it.

I couldn't find it in the leak diagrams, but it looks pretty big in the spy shots.

If you think it's that simple you really don't know much about the subject.

Yes the supra is going to be similar to a z4 but it's suspension and engine tuning will be different and that can make a huge difference.

Let's not even start on the fact the z4 is a convertible and the Supra is a coupe

Yes indeed it does. The display unit might be missing in that interior mockup.

Well, I am off the Supra bandwagon, for now. Maybe if the rumored hybrid comes out and is something special I'll have another look. I can't believe they're actually releasing a rebadged z4 with a body kit on it. The car just doesn't seem special anymore.

If I wanted to buy a BMW I know where to go to get one, and it's not on a Toyota lot.

The author of that article didn’t notice the short block has a different part number from the X5 B58C.

Funny comment to that article:
Supra fans: The 2019 Supra is a BMW parts bin car!
BMW: You’re welcome.

BMW refuse to make a Z4 M coupe replacement.

I’m genuinely curious how it compares to the Nismo 370z. The 7AT 370z Nismo runs 12.9 - 13.1 at 109 -110 stock and will probably cost 15-20k less (although the drivetrain is not as refined and has a SLA front suspension).

The steering wheel looks like shit with that huge fat middle spoke. I wish they'd put less buttons on the damned wheels these days.
