i8 Lowering Questions / Pics Please??

I am getting ready to see what all I want to do with the i8 as soon as it gets here & #1 is lowering. I see H&R has a set for it but on their site it says 2015+ so does that mean they will not work for my 2014? I do not see why they wouldn't its the same parts no?

Also anyone here lowered? Please attach images of your setup as well as what your using & i8 model year & your opinion if the H&R will work for 2014 as well.\

Thanks!!

Nice so then they should work. Sick look too by the way I think I seen this one with Lord's white one on Instagram before. And yours looks so low though how come other ones I see on H&R still have a gap yours looks like almost no gap at all.

Did your shop edit the springs to go lower or something?

My two cents' worth: unless you plan to use your car as a garage queen, don't do it. The car is already low. Parking structure ramps and speed bumps are dangerous to the car as it is.

I agree - just get a set of wheels, I didn't lower it and it looks great just with a set of cool wheels and the ride is perfect as is! However, if you like the slammed look, go for it

I see you went with the Vossen wheels. That is what I will be doing as well as Vossen Sponsors me. Do you have a side shot by chance so I can see the gap better? Did you do any spacers?

No spacers, Vossen custom fabricated these wheels based on the offset my wheel and vinyl guy gave them Viga Design in Chicago).

I don't have any side shots and it is raining today.....so here you go with a different angle from the back!

Those wheels I actually like. Are they any wider than the stock ones?

Yes, they are wider than stock and fill out the wheel space perfectly....

What are the wheel specs? Diameter and width? Tire specs?

Also are your wheels heavier than stock and how does it ride? Any impact on acceleration?

Thanks in advance but when I see things done that I'd consider doing if I got the car it is exciting to hear back from people who actually own these cars versus all else with opinions but no real experience.

Thanks again folks!

I live in the NYC area and your setup would be near impossible to live with and if I did I be spending all my money on new rims or rim repair.

245 front tires 285 rears. They're really not that difficult to live with. Just the other day I hit a major pothole. My heart nearly came to a dead spot but after I inspected them they were perfectly fine.

What are the profiles?..I'm guessing probably 30 in the rear and 35 up front?...if you hit a pothole with anything less and didn't do damage PLEASE tell me what brand of tires you have or better yet the exact set of tires because I'd want those!

Another dumb question...I suspect all i8s have run flats?

For those that used the H&R springs, how is the ride comfort compared to stock. I've lowered every vehicle I've owned...sometimes it's been great, and well...sometimes not.

I really think the car will look sooo nice with just a little drop, but on the flip side, the ride quality is very very nice, and I really don't want to mess with it too much.

So what's it like with H&R springs? Is the ride jiggly at all? Is it very close to stock ride?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers,
Scar

They feel as comfortable as stock, which was a surprise to me because H&Rs made my M6 ride like a racecar.

Usually an alignment is recommended after any type of lowering but sometimes the need for it is so little that you don't notice the car isn't aligned until Ts up on the machine. I have yet to take mine in for alignment and it's been a few thousand miles since lowering. I'm just lazy I guess.

Anybody else can chime in regarding ride quality and might as well as how much you paid for the springs.....maybe we need to do a poll or something. All feedback appreciated.
