They need this color to move these cars out of the dealer. 9 are sitting nicely here.

I cant believe they went for these hideous led lights instead of the one without glass in the prototype. They looked so so good. The new chiron took clear advantage of this bad move by bmw.

I'm dreaming of 305 width tires in the rear like the 911 lol

I like the red but I don't think the grey goes well with it. It should have been a darker grey or black. (Obviously the blue would look even worse.)

Used to be an i8 fan .. The more I see it, the more I hate the rear.. And those rims are just embarrassing.

I appreciate what you are saying but the contrasting panels just distract that eye from the beauty in the details of the design, especially the panels. When I park my Sophisto Gray next to the white cars the difference is really glaring.

Please don't take this as an indictment on the other colors...each i8 is beautiful and special. I just believe that the high contrasting accents can distract the eye from the true beauty of the design. Just my .02.

I actually think the i8 works best in simple understated colours with no blue accents. The eye is less distracted than with bright and high contrast colours.

It helps focussing on the amazing design.

Mine is sophisto grey with frozen grey and turbine wheels. After 2 years with the car (my 2nd i8), i think this combo works best.

Always worry when 'special editions' are launched. I see there will be a series of special edition i8's. Usually means struggling to shift then.

I saw this car live today. Unfortunately, it was disappointment. Do NOT order this car before you see color in flesh by yourself. This red is IMO quite dull, dusty, something like....lingonberry?! Please look google pics from lingonberry and take pictures which are darkest red. Then you are close. I thought this would be a bit bright...nowhere close. And it's not metal, just plain paint. Or at least looks like it even standing next to it. Compared for example to Ferrari that offers several different, splendid reds, this is something hard to understand why BMW brings this to us.
