Seen this before, but as you say, always fun to watch. Seems, however, the top gear driver with the i8, has a slow 0-60 time. Wonder if he actually utilized launch control. I've been able to achieve between 3.9 to 4.1 seconds with launch control in the i8.

From a seat of your pants perspective the M4 seems a bit quicker. It sure is noisier.

The M4 spun it's rear tires with LC active in yet another video. If that guy spent a little more time with the manual he may have realized that you can launch at a lower rpm and hook up properly. My bet is the race would have ended close but in the reverse order.

Hmmm... This got me thinking. I just recently read a review about the M2 and how the car needed to be better than good, it needed to be great. The point of the review was that M cars, as of late, have not been in the same spirit as of the earlier M cars. They were cars made for profit margin rather than driving enthusiasts. I am not a fan of the M4 as it is, and I think the i8 is a car of the future, and the way the company should go. Jeremy Clarkson said it best, that he is a dinosaur and the future is the i8. I can't remember the exact episode but it was recent. He chose the i8 over the M3.
So to make a long blabbering story short, glad to see the i8 won! |

It's so obvious. But the next M5 will get xDrive first.
