Either way, the 335 was never able to keep up with my M5 E60
I love love love the e60 m5. Considering a 2010 as my next car. Any issues with the last year E60's?

The one from 2010 it's the one to get. It has a lot of updates to fix and prevent usual failures of the S85, if you google around you can even find some post where people had identified the different versions of the S85.

But I can't complain, the one that I drive is from 11/2006, and has been a pleasure to drive, without any major issue.

An M4 is not to be doubted.

I'm excited about looking into them. Hopefully I can't find one in a 6-speed. Nothing against the smg but I feel like that v10 would be a pleasure to take up to redline with a stick

Thanks...you make my day complete

First I read the M2 outperforms the M4 on Hockenheim and in addition I see on your video that Chevy is more or less also outperforming the M4....

Seriously thinking to step up and buy something faster from Porsche

That's a very slow V8, it only did .1sec better than the M4 and the M4 is a I-6 with 30 less hp & 49 less lb-ft tq. Switch the stats around and that M4 would do much better numbers because you can clearly see that they get the power to the ground better than the camaro.

The camaro is the quicker car in the end.

I can only imagine how it would feel. In Chile we didn't get the six speed version. But I can rescue that the SMG, being an MT at it's core, gives you a very mechanical feel in the shifts, specially when you upshift at 8,250 rpm.... it's just insane.

This is television and they want to make a sensation. They did not say on what distance the race was run on.

I assume they picked the finish line just far enough so that the M4 does not overtake the i8. On a full ¼ mile (400m), the M4 would have likely finished ahead.

This doesn't take anything away for the i8 though and shows the combined benefit of AWD with the max torque at zero RPM from electric motors. It will be interesting if the rumoured e-boost for future ///M cars comes true .

Although I agree that given enough runway the M4 would have pulled ahead I disagree when you say 1/4 mile. These two cars have been tested to do the 1/4 mile sprint in pretty comparable times, and this is not the only publication that has pitted these two head to head against each other and gotten this result. The i8 being a fairly easy car to launch + the fact that it has a a fair amount of torque over the M4, a good portion of which it delivers instantly, I'd say this should be the expected result most of the time. For those quoting driver error, I believe Chris Harris did the comparison as well and he drove the M4 (I think we can all agree Harris is a pretty decent driver) and the i8 still came out ahead in the 1/4 mile. From a rolling start or at a 1/2 mile race the M4 would def come out on top, not to mention a $700 tune makes the M4 a complete rocket, but stock vs stock, from a standstill, at 1/4 mile or less, i8.

Nah they stated it was 1/4 mile see attachment.

The M4/M3 is slower in a 1/4 mile in numerous videos online.

Here's another publication doing the same test:

Burger Tuning, they sell a $750 piggyback tune for the M4. I had it on my M6 and my business partner had it on his M4. Our cars were running away from full bolt on GTRs with just that tune, exhaust, and race gas.
