It seems BMW is going to abandon the electric vehicle project. Perhaps I should just give up on trying to figure out if it's worthwhile owning one.

They are not abandoning EVs in general, just treading water, and focusing on the Hybrids.

Which may (and probably should) cost the current BMW CEO his job:

This is probably more likely that BMW does not want to be in charge of a customer forum. The last thing they need is a public record or any major issues and that's what forums can be- owners looking for answers to problems. This forum is great and has more readership than the "official" one anyway.
