The S600 could have gone but you should have kept the ACR lol . All good tho, gas guzzlers get old after a while.

Awesome transition! Any chance of getting an i8 too for your sports car?

Is yours 2017 model?
No, not huge. Actually fantastic. one must always compare apples to apples. Numbers are numbers...........Any make any model.

Specifics: 2017 Rex/ $56,395 MSRP. Any Dealership, any make(Electric of course because of the big $7,500 Tax credit). Tell any Dealer to run up the numbers on a 30 Mo. Lease w/ 10K miles per yr. for an (Electric eligible)car with an MSRP of $56,395. You would be hard pressed for any Dealer to give you a monthly payment of less than $350, unless you put an substantial amount of money down. Which I did not.

More specifics: 7 MSD's down, $542.00 Drive off (after $after $2,500 Ca rebate)

Recap: I have a 2017 $56,395 car, on a 30 month/10K per yr Lease. With $542.99 drive off, and a $349.99 per month Payment.

Most Dealer Principle's that I know, would think twice before giving their own brother that deal.

Good to know that you are enjoying ur new ride.

If I were your kid I would have begged you to keep the Viper

You know, you would think so huh.....but my son is not a car guy, and my daughter just wants to save the environment. This is a very different generation. They didn't grow up with drag racing, street cruising, and modifying cars. It's not in their blood.

I still can't believe it. On the So. Cal. i3 Facebook page, somebody made the comment: "Your not changing, your evolving" I think that is the better way to express it. What has happened, or is happening to me. My 28 yr old version of me would kick my ass.

Instead I get a bunch of car guy's like me who appreciate rare and exceptional automobiles. You even know what an ACR is and how special that car is. Especially in Graphite/Silver(22 ever made). Damn you guy's....

Please, all you non-car, environmentally progressive folks please start posting that your glad that I got rid of them! I'm starting to get downright sad.

Ok, I'll applaud you ! And I'm still a car guy .

Have many gas guzzlers myself but drive the i3 as my daily.

I Love it ! Many here will hate on the i3 because it goes against their understanding of the brand, kind of like if Tesla suddenly started making gas engines, but for the most part it's truly unique and different.

Enjoy it ! I do!

Don't feel bad about getting rid of them deep down I think you where ok with it otherwise I don't think you'd have Parted with them, you wanted to experience something new and completely different ! Nothing wrong with that.

Now please tell me about the LED high beams been wanting to change mine out. Do they pump out the light? If it's functional I'm all for it!

Sorry but you made the front page so you got the whole community chiming in

There are cars worth letting go b/c they are not unique enough or at all, but 1 of 22? Oh man...can you buy it back!?!?

Mad props to being a family man.

I myself try not to use gas this gas that but I don't think I'll make the switch in the car world for a long time - maybe when I relocate to a more urban place.

I leased a 2017 i3 BEV for my wife. It's now my favorite car. It's more fun to drive in traffic than my 335is with 500hp. I'm going to lease one for myself as a daily in January. I won't ever sell the E92 though. It'll stay my garage Queen.

You know.....I do think the i8 has great eyeball, it just needs more seasoning. In 3 years though, it could be very, very good. However, if I was to pull the trigger on an electric sports car right now, I would do a P100D on a 30 month Lease. Then have a strong look at a 2020 i8.

I read somewhere that due to the inefficiencies in the power grid and other things, there is more pollution created generating the electricity to charge an electric car than the car itself would produce having a modern gasoline engine.

But who knows.

Also in San Diego ✊
My spouse was looking for a 4 door and I mentioned an i3 but we chose against it because the range is like one way to LA. We got an Evoque instead, so I made up for it by getting an E60 M5 a few months later 😂

I hope the i3 continues to be what you want haha.

Glad you like your new ride! It looks pretty cool and you gotta love electric!

I've got to say there were many shocking items in your post:

1. You got rid of two awesome cars. Really wonderful rides.
2. The i3 can sticker for almost $55k?! I've never looked at the price on those but WOW! My M3 was $63k custom ordered! I would have never guessed!

Enjoy

This isn't a price thread...

Each individual deal is different. Don't be weird. Thanks.

I'm happy you are happy.... but saving the environment and all... you could have kept the ACR and *ahem* supervised the mileage and gas it drank vs some lucky dude is crushing the gas pumps right now.

You've just shifted the petrol consumption, not reduced it
