Rear Storage Cover
Can someone take a picture for me of the clip/mechanism that secures the rear trunk storage cover in place when in the closed position.

Mine was installed improperly before in that it need to be pushed to be secured. I took the car for an oil change and now as everyone has stated it just sits there and does not secure. I assumes it was correct before and something was missing after the service.
Thank you for your help. |

Same situation here.
My 'trunk' cover used to secure in very snugly. My car went in for some work at BMW, and when returned, the cover had been changed to the loose fitting cover. I preferred the secure one, but no big deal. |

It feels more cheaper now just resting on plastic.

Engine cover after oil change
I am in debate over this with my local dealer. Under the top engine cover is a styrofoam heat shield silencer. It should be secured by two fasteners. If it isn't, and this pad is casually tossed in, it prevents the top cover from engaging in the front positioning tabs. The two turn locks will still engage but the cover is now a full centimetre back. This in turn forces the flip cover back to the point that it contacts the rear deck seal. Once forced past the deck seal, pulling the flip cover up breaks the two part handle. It is not designed to be forced past the seal as a fitment. The dealer fix is to glue it back together and I'm not happy about that.
Sitting in the correct position, there is no gap at the front of the cover and the flip cover has about a centimetre of clearance and sits on a couple of small rubber bumpers. |

The top cover has plastic taps on it, which push into slots, just under the window between the engine area and the cabin of the car. The plastic tabs are likely not engaged in the tabs. Undo the 2 knobs, pull the cover back towards the rear of the car, tip the cover up so that the front tabs engage with the front slots, and then set it down and redo the 2 knobs. Then the cover will shut correctly. See my video at 21:20 into the video.
