i8 with tuned S63
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com HTTP://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20151...-i8-the-m5s-v8 The team at Gabura Racing Technologies, a motorsports engineering company with expertise in race transmissions and custom builds, has taken BMW’s plug-in hybrid i8 sportscar and turned it into a supercar. The Munich-based company (handy, yes?) has removed all vestiges of futuristic hybrid technology from the i8, and rather than plug in a power cord has plugged in a supertuned BMW S63 twin-turbo V8 — mounted in the front, no less. That engine, the M-version of the occasionally maligned and once-recalled N63 4.4-litre, already boasts 560 horses, and the boosted Gabura version (apparently pre-tweaked by BMW tuner Alpina) is said to add at least 200 more. |

I wonder what the weight distribution is. My guess is 60-40.

I would like to see the I8 with a six/seven speed manual and just the 3 cylinder boosted to 300 hp it would be a delightful pure driver's car. No batteries no chargers no nonsense. Cost would drop to 70k as well

With no eletric motor up front and no battery in the middle, you'd also look at very weird weight distribution. Not unlike a Porsche. ;-) |

Exactly like a 911 but with a lot less weight. Just got mine three days ago. I had lots of toys Some were done right and some were not . This car is done right. I was just thinking out loud thinking out loud thinking of my 1967 911 S ......

i8 with uprated M4 GTS ICE and DCT, 12kW battery and higher power motor for a total of 650+ HP. Same minimalist interior treatment as the M4 GTS with wider wheels and tires. Because of scaling, a final price under $200,000 and enough performance to play with the upper end of the performance hierarchy. The democratization of hyper car performance. |

That will work for me hahahahah
My Son has an Evora and the steering and road feel is second to none ... So I thought it would be nice to see a similar I8 in addition to the Battery enhanced ICE I8. I know its not going to happen but what If? |

An i8 version of it would, indeed, be sublime. It would actually be great to see a few different versions of the i8, a la, Porsche 911!! The initial version, which we have. The Evora version. The Democratized Hypercar version. A real GT-3 Version. Our work here is done. |
