I get off the plane and head straight to the office - why would I not wear dress shoes in the airport?

You can wear drivers/loafers. Easy to slip on and off.

I could wear lots of things.

No need to slip on/off when you're TSA Pre-Check.

Maybe someone has somewhere important to go from the airport or maybe they just like them?

If you're worried about the time it takes to pull your shoes off and put them back on after walking two miles thru an airport, being irradiated and sitting in front of the gate for half an hour plus, you might have weird priorities. Or you just need Pre Check, as stated.

You know what, I have as a normal passenger no problems to take my shoes off at the TSA-check, but as crew member or just as stand-by its more than annoying to know, that the shoes would ring the bell and you have to take them off and wasting time - for what? Good looking?
I prefer practical solutions at this time and wear dresscode conform shoes that wouldnt wake up the detectors.

Thumbs up

So the previous Black Oxfords with the black chunky soles I grabbed a couple of weeks back, really didn't do it for me. The leather was too stiff and I truly wanted a white sole for contrast. Enter these bad boys!
Lovin em! Leather is very supple. Super comfy and stylish AF, IMO.

Seems a bit silly to change shoes just for the airport.

Honestly, that seems like a much bigger pain in the ass than unlacing dress shoes at the TSA checkpoint.

You'd roll your eyes and think I'm insane seeing me go through Pre-Check wearing my flight boots.

Worse...

Always some variation of these. They work very well with certain demographic TSA agents and have the additional benefit of being extremely loud so people tend to move out of my way without the need to utter a word.

I think those are women’s shoes. Unless you’re a woman, and if so, apologies for assuming otherwise.
