Any ETA on M50 Reviews?

Feels like it’s been a while since the reveal, and there really isn’t much out there in terms of real driving impressions or measurements/specs outside of the press release. Getting close to decision time for me and wondering if anybody happens to know when the press will get their hands on these? Maybe they have already and there’s some kind of embargo? somebody’s gotta know something

Indeed! But think we will have to wait until september october before review testing will take place
Will also have to decide between a 440i GC or m50 i4 but want to test drive before deciding

Not that i have seen either, hoping for some soon, there is a video of a "review" from a person on youtube the whole video is in German language so i dint understand anything but what i did was i paused the video at a special frame where i could see what the range was on the m50 i with the 20 inch specced wheels if it was the same car who knows if it was edited but it show at 99% the car had a range of 475 km in that form and then later on in the video it has 330 don't know how much driving was done with this car and how hard it was driven but 475 at 99% should be almost 500 when driving it "normally" even with the 20" wheels.

Bmwblog has a video review which gives me much confidence. But i still need to test drive before pullong trigger.

In my experience ev are not as good to drive as ice, but this might be very close.

Have already seen some test drives with the pre production model and really seems to drive great, and more powerful than an M40i while at the same price. But checking with the dealer, the rebate on the electric is hardly none whereas I get a very big rebate on the M40i so now what?!

Came across this review of the M50 just now, still no instrumented testing but they do have some nice things to say about the drive

You start the i4 M50 xDrive like any other new BMW model, with a press of a button on the centre console. There’s no whirring of electrics, just silence. It moves away in a wonderfully smooth manner.

The two electric motors are super responsive. The throttle is also superbly calibrated, allowing you to meter out the power well. This all makes for tremendous ease of driving in everyday situations, where the new BMW is both tremendously well refined and sufficiently powerful to give it very brisk qualities.

Find an open road and you’re able to confidently exploit the full reserves of the latest M-car to stunning effect. Dialling up the Sport Boost mode heightens the performance further, bringing the full-fat power and torque loadings. There are also sharper qualities to the throttle, and with it even greater response from the drivetrain.

So configured, the i4 M50 xDrive surges off the line. It builds momentum with extremely linear properties, propelling you forward with considerable force in the process. The generous torque fully compensates for the new BMW’s considerable weight, making for hugely responsive tip-in and rather intense roll-on acceleration. The urgent feel doesn’t begin to trail off until you’re well on your way to three figures and beyond.

This is a very fast car when you want it to be – not quite in the same league as the Porsche Taycan Turbo, but every bit as strong as the Taycan 4S. The initial thrust on a loaded throttle is quite intense. From then on, it accelerates in a truly effortless manner.

Just wondering what range of discounts were they offering? Looking into getting an i4 M50 when my current X5 turns 3y. (oct 2022).

I haven't like the steering on a 3/4 series since the E90. So I guess I'll get used to it.

I'll just keep it in sport mode 100%.
