Cool I3 Nav screen off.

Hi All.
I have an I3 2016 model and have been very happy with it, until last week when the centre navigation screen went black.

Checking the system, I found the 20 amp fuse No 61 had blown. I have replaced this, and it popped instantly.

I then disconnected the screen from the car and tried another fuse. Popped instantly.

So the fault is after the fuse and not the screen itself.

Can anyone help identify what's on Fuse 61? Where do the wires go? What to check?

The fuse diagram indicates 4 things on the fuse. Cryptic images. Screen media player MAP and Media. (hope the attachment worked)

Car seems to be working fine except for the centre screen.

Might be a short in the wiring itself. I had this happen when I upgraded my screen to be able to use carplay.

Does anyone have details of the wiring for fuse 61. Tried an auto Electrician and he cannot find one.

Hi.
BMW are replacing the head unit behind the rear seats on Tuesday. Very expensive.
Let's hope this fixes the issue

Thanks for the quick reply, although I was hoping you'd respond with a magic incantation

If you don't mind, update the thread once you get it sorted and I'll do the same

Digging around in ISTA, I found this. That relay could be bad?

Hi.

We have had the car back from BMW with a new head unit. This apparently was the issue.
I don't know the inner workings so cannot advise further.

Anyway all working at the moment.

thanks for the update, glad you got it sorted. I haven't put much time in it since my last post.

Curious, before it happened, had you ever done any coding on your car with BimmerCode or BimmerLink?
