No. There will be an additional i8 model with a more focused "less is more philosophy" that is important because it retains the original philosophy whilst once again being groundbreaking and original. And the only one of its kind.

In the past few weeks I have driven (or been driven) in an autonomous i3 and i8 that also includes automated parking and inductive charging so many innovative features are being developed for the future including updated connectivity and HUD.

I sure hope that this i8 gets more power, range and broader tyres and better suspension, and not just by removing the roof.

Yep, it's just the right green BMW product that next to nobody wanted. Just when I thought nothing could be less enticing than an X6, BMW figured out a way.

Yes it is. The defining electric sound very much contributes the sci-fi image of the BMW i8. Its not just the looks that turn heads but that electric whine does too.

I actually like the electric whine it makes. But apart from that the 3 cyl sounds a lot better than you would think. They should offer a performance exhaust to make it even louder if thats possible.

A little overlap never hurts. If all else, they can just up-tune the i8 & call it a 'tomato' version for all I care. A quicker higher performance i8 would've been better news than a Spyder. Don't you think so?
