What presents did you get for your family?

I don't think you did, I think the title got changed.

So now that the question is different, here is my new answer. I'm actually a little bummed out the last two years. I always enjoyed thinking of and giving the perfect gifts to my 9 nieces and nephews. I love seeing them scream "OMG, Aunt Laura, I love it!" The baby is now 15 and the rest range in age between 19 and 24. There are no more WOW gifts. They have everything and what they don't have and want are big ticket items. So unless they have a list and want something specific, they get money to put towards the big ticket items. They enjoy getting the cash but I hate it. I feel like I'm being lazy but I'm not going to buy something just for the sake of buying something.

The few real gifts I gave this year were headphones for one niece and a good pair of walking boots as she is going to Scotland next week. Her sister just got her first car which didn't come with Nav so I gave her money for some kind of software upgrade to link to her phone. I also got her one of those air compressors for her tires. One of my nephews got money towards tires and wheels. And in a blink, another Christmas has come and gone.

My whole family in the same room simultaneously. Only happens a few times a year, max.

My dad is still going strongly at 87 and my mom is 5 years clear of cancer. Brother still improving after massive catastrophic stroke. My daughter just received word that she got an internship in the governor's office.

I also got socks from my daughter and wads of cash from parents. The cash thing is so odd from my parents but old habits die hard, I guess.

It was a good Christmas.

THIS!!!! At least TRY to get something for the kids. I don't give cash except in very rare conditions related to a specific gift that wouldn't be quite proper to give the entire object.

Even if gift card, pick something specific to the recipient. UNFORTUNATELY, the local dispensaries didn't have gift cards

so I got my brother CBTL instead. One got Turners Outdoors, and another got coffee shop right next to his work.

Coolest thing I got this year was from my youngest son: 4 different summer sausages from some hunt club: elk, boar, buffalo, and a 4th I can't remember.

Cash gifts. The most memorable gifts I got from my aunts and uncles when growing up was.... CASH!! Woohoo when I finally graduated from socks and pajamas...
