Samsung makes a French door that is only ~$1500, and looks ok for a sorta-budget French door.

We bought a Samsung counter-depth refrigerator when we moved into the new house 5 years ago, because we couldn't find the Whirlpool Gold model that we wanted in stock anywhere. It has been flawless and trouble free for that entire time.

I know like 5 people with Samsung fridges and all have issues or broke.
Stick with the usual brands.

Worst decision I made was going with Samsung appliances. The fridge which was like $4k replaced one of those default Whirlpools developers stick in condos. Well, the Whirlpool was so much better.

The Samsung started to give me issues 9 months into ownership. Ice maker broke and had to be replaced. Now every month I have to go into the ice maker and chip away all the ice build up. Apparently there is a class action over that issue.

Let’s not talk about the $50 filter you have to change every 6 months. Although you can find knockoffs for half the price.

I would get rid of it if it wasn’t for all the other appliances. I’m not a fan of mismatched brands. The other appliances I can’t really complain about. The fridges are garbage.

This thread pushed me to do something about my crappy 3 year old Samsung refrigerator.

I found a great online sale at Costco on the exact replacement I had been wanting. The new LG fridge will be delivered tomorrow.

"Life's Good!" (After Samsung.)

Interesting. I'll have to look into this. It's getting old having to do this every week or so.

I wouldn't touch LG either, more of the same issues. They make phones FFS. Repairs are a NIGHTMARE as LG only sends parts to authorised repairmen, it's a fucking pain in the arse.

IMHO whirlpool products or something like JENN AIR if you want super premium.

That ice buildup? OMG! It's the worst

If you go to the forums and look up the issue there are hundreds and hundreds of complaints.

I have owned my Samsung fridge for 4 months and I am already chipping away at ice It works better if you avoid "crushed" IMO.

Not a fridge.. but my co-worker had a Samsung microwave that turns on for no reason in the middle of the night. I'm disappointed that Samsung isn't any better.
Though their phones are pretty awesome.

Signed up on the class action website. Thanks for that.

I usually never select crushed ice and still have the issue. It seemed to take a little longer to clog after I stuffed some folded paper towels in the chute to ice box gasket so it seals better.

Yeah...phones, TVs, etc. are all awesome. A shame too hear that they've dropped the ball on their home appliance line.

No sense in entering that vertical if the products are shit and just the word "Samsung" ends up leaving a bad taste in people's mouths.

TV's are shit too.

They had a chronic issue with horizontal black lines. It's phones, tablets and absolutely nothing else IMHO.

I have professional experience with Samsung consumer electronics as I had a middle management position with a national distributor that offered the brand. While I personally prefer SONY TVs, Samsung makes a good solid TV.

Same here. I just have to keep the hair dryer on stand by for the no ice situation. That and press the little reset button on the ice maker.

Funny you post that here. I think Samsung appliances are about as reliable as BMWs.
