Not sure how intelligent I am, but I only don a mask if absolutely required, e.g. entering a retail store or restaurant where it's posted. But walking in public or outside, that's a negative ghost rider.

I am not wearing a mask, I also don't go too many places where I'm in any kind of a crowd. Having said that I know that the masks folks are wearing offer no protection and the idea is to stop the wearer from spreading the virus. And that might work if people were wearing, handling and disposing of them properly, which I have yet to see anyone do. This is more of a feel good exercise and I'm frankly not interested in playing.

It's no different than a store requiring shoes or a shirt. If you don't wear one, then don't get triggered if they refuse service.

I'm wearing a cloth mask with shop paper as a filter (as studies have shown it has similar effectiveness of a n95 mask) when I enter an enclose public place due to state mandate law but also would still do so without the mandate. Out doors I really don't see any study that shows any major benefit and I really don't understand the people driving their cars unless they are uber or lyft

my wife and I wearing N95's when shopping, etc. Just not when walking the dog as we don't run into others.

However, it really sucks when people are walking around in the store without them. Personally, when I see others walking around in tight quarters without masks I hope they develop a fever and a cough soon. They are assholes.

I've said it many times over - even if wearing a mask is simply providing leadership for the less intelligent - to serve as a reminder to social distance - wash hands - or otherwise not forget Covid in general - it's a GOOD IDEA to wear a damn mask.

Where it's required? Yes.

Inside building where most people are wearing them? Yes, but only to make them feel more comfortable.

In a restaurant? Nope.

On the beach and the pool at the condo where I currently am on vacation? Nope and no one else is including my general practice doctor uncle that is vacationing with me or his son in law that's in residency.

I have my own opinions about the true effectiveness of masks and I'm trained EHS professional with 22 years under my belt.

That little 'ol paper mask won't protect you. That's not what it's for. It's to keep most of your germs from getting away from you. That's all.
However, I wear a mask in public because I don't want to infect anybody. I have no symptoms at all but you never know.

10-11 hours a day while at work. At the gym, no. Inside grocery stores or any other public place aside from restaurants. It's just irresponsible not to. In the beginning it seemed that if you didn't wear one, you got dirty looks from everyone else that had one on. Went to the grocers last weekend and aside from myself, I saw 2 other people wearing a mask. Now it seems like, in the small town I live in, you get dirty looks for wearing one by the non-wearing sort. Kinda makes me feel like a Star Bellied Sneetch.

Idk how you do it man. I bought a few N95's when I was prepping in January and it's hella uncomfortable. Already told my boss that I won't be returning to the office until masks are no longer mandated.

Perfect demonstration of being incapable of caring for anybody aside oneself.

This virus really does a good job of showing who is completely selfish and who is not.

The worst are the people that wear the n95 with the valve to protect themselves and screw everybody else.

It is not a feel good exercise. Countries where people wear them regularly are faring rather well. Canada isn't too bad, but here in the US it is a mess.

So I care for other people and I also apply common sense and reasoning....did you read my post. I don't really go anywhere that's crowded. There is no consistent messaging on the masks from "authorities", watch how folks use them (i've been trained to use N95 etc BTW). Folks pulling them out of their pocket before walking into a store then back in the pocket when leaving.....hanging them off an ear, under the chin on top of the head. Reusing multiple times not washing hands before and after......do you seriously think that this is effective? If you have symptoms stay home, wash your hands and use common sense.

Black Lives Matter protests have not led to a spike in coronavirus cases, research says

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/us/co...rnd/index.html

Have you seen the protests? Very few wearing masks, and when they are they are often pulled off their faces, no social distancing and getting in peoples faces. So which is it? Masks and social distancing works or it doesn't?
