Well we know the Tesla drops about 50hp at 60% SOC, and yet this BMW was only at 56% SOC. So will be great to see them both run with at least 85% SOC.

Enough of the EV drag races already. Does anybody actually give a damn if an EV runs an 11.3 or 11.4 or 11.5 or whatever.
I see no reason why you would buy one brand of EV over another aside from Tesla which has the enviable infrastructure in place to support them & no I'm not a Tesla fanboy but at least they offer something tangible the others don't. Can we get past this acceleration party trick and push manufacturers to make an EV that doesn't look like it was designed by a 10 year old, doesn't weigh half a ton or more too much, doesnt have some dangerous/cheaparse operational touchscreen instead of actual instruments & controls, doesn't require standing in a car park for an age awaiting to be able to drive the thing if you can even find an available/operational charger, doesn't require it be scrapped & replaced in a relatively short time due to unacceptable maintenance costs which pretty much negates the whole saving the planet argument anyway due to manufacturing costs on the environment. I do see the benefit of an effective EV for commuting/shopping etc if your unfortunate enough to live in a heavy populated/polluted city & applaud those that take the step improve their situation whether it be recycling, carpooling, installing water tanks & solar at your home, or indeed using an EV to cummute. I also agree heavy vehicles & public transport need to be replaced with EV or other non-polluting technology but what about the serious polluters like ocean liners, aero planes etc, we really are just kidding ourselves until these are addressed. Also what about the serious polluters of the world such as India & China etc, you do realize we all breath the same air & live on the same planet don't you. You also do realize how your electricity you put into your EV is generated too don't you (no not wind farms or solar that's a tiny percentage) it comes primarily from coal burning power stations, yes some nuclear but that's being decreased not increased. Sorry for the rant & honestly don't want to deteriorate into some political pointscoring fest but I'm just so sick of this whole EV will save the world problems being shoved down peoples throats everywhere you turn & now even some motoring enthusiasts sites are sprouting it. So glad I was around to experience the joy of driving & thinking, not just commuting & following.

https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/...-in-the-us.php The largest source is natural gas at 40%. renewables is 20% and nuclear is 20% I'm an advocate of nuclear for lots of technical and environmental reasons. France has been exporting nuclear based electricity for a generation. Anyway I do agree that a discussion about 1/4 mile times within a tenth or two doesn't really need debate. I disagree that charging infrastructure is most important in the decision of Tesla vs everyone else. Some of us will probably never use much charging away from home. Also quality matters I will say that when it comes down to it flight and shipping aren't going to change soon. We might use renewable bio-fuels, etc but that's about it. Hydrogen looks interesting, but you have to create it with other energy.
