Do the 30-minute sessions include DC fast charging? I'm assuming that's the point of the 30-minute restriction? Additionally, someone suggested that when your 30 minutes are up, you can end the session, wait the grace period, and then start another 30-minute session if you want to stick around. Is this accurate?

I believe the cool-off period is 1 hour, so you would need to stick around for 2 hours (1 hour cool off and 2 30 minute sessions).

Correct. 60 minutes between sessions. Although I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone confirm that this is actually implemented in the wild vs on paper. Anyone?

Does it just stop, or can you pay beyond that? Do you have to re-start to top off with a paid session?

In practice I'm expecting it doesn't matter much, with my other EV (or even in an ICE) my average stops were 20-30 minutes for two or three hours of driving which is a good cadence to me. Quick back of the napkin math seems like you should be able to gain 200 miles of range in 30 minutes, depending on SoC.

I don't really like driving 4+ hours in one go. But it would be nice to know how the free charging works in combination with topping off, if necessary.

Answer in fine print:

Quote:
$10 deposit to pre-fund Idle Fees and charging after 30 minutes. User is responsible for Idle Fees, which apply beginning 10 minutes after charge session stops or vehicle reaches full charge. After the initial 30 minutes of each applicable session, charging continues uninterrupted at prevailing Electrify America Pass pricing. There is a 60-minute wait-period between charging sessions in which you receive the complimentary 30 minutes of charging under this promotion.
So you can continue to charge the car after 30 minutes, uninterrupted , but they just begin to charge YOU

Also says 10 minutes gets you 108 miles( assuming low SoC I guess), and 30 minutes would charge from 20%-80%. So about 15 minutes probably gets you two hours of driving at highway speeds, and 30 minutes gets you about three hours of driving.

DC fast charging and there is no cool off period. I've charged back to back and had no charges.

More or less same here. Discovered by accident when a charger we tried was limited to 16kW for some reason. Unplugged and started a new session at an adjacent charger at the same location. Figured we were going to hit the "60 minute rule" by starting a new session, but it let us charge on that station for free immediately.
