Do it. You've earned it.

Besides, they're yummy.

Funny thing: I started smoking about half way through my 13 month tour in Germany, plus smoked the entire 12 months I was in Vietnam. I quit smoking the day I separated from the Army (April, 1970) and never looked back.

...when you're waking up at 4:30 AM without an alarm clock, instead of hitting the pillow at 4:30 AM after last call...like those silly 20-somethings out on my lawn right now!!!!!

I agree. It used to be the only time I saw 4:00 am was at the end of the day. No mas.

I’m already sleeping at the time I used to be getting in the shower and getting dressed to go out on the weekends. WTF???

I'm sort of the same way. I wake up pretty close to 8AM without an alarm regardless of when I go to bed. So if I'm in night owl mode and go to bed at 2AM, I don't get much sleep. Most work nights (only have to say that for another 2-1/2 months), I'm in bed by 11:30 and have to drag myself out when the alarm goes off at 7.

You remember smoking was allowed on planes....and EVERYWHERE! Class, the mall, the grocery store.

Coin op cig machines? How smooth the clear handles were and that satisfying KACHUNK when you cut class and went and bought some cigs...

Slide-rail soda vending machine. I recall "defeating" one at our local airport back in the mid '50's. We had a bottle opener and a couple of straws - drink in-place!

I remember those. The drinks were always so cold. Guess that's because they were sitting in ice water. What a treat!

Our official one was outside the cafeteria. And then there were the Boys rooms.

Our high school didn't allow students to smoke on campus. Any student caught doing so faced suspension.

We had a strict dress code as well.

The cruelty!!

I never understood smoking cigs; they did nothing for me. I saved for the pacalola instead.

Pssst. Moderation.

When I was 15 I swore off the hard liquor, and drank only beer... until I turned 50-something.
