Wiper blades for i8
Guys, I need your help. I’ve got a 2017 i8 coupe and the two front wipers need to be changed. What’s the best wipers to put on the car? Is it an easy job I can do? Is there a video link somewhere? BMW are asking for over £150.
Many thanks |

Thank you for suggesting this. I already received a lot of good feedback. I had assumed it wasn't worthy of me recording this tutorial, but the i8 is so different than many other cars that it has been valuable info so far. I appreciate it.

It's funny as when i'm washing my car, i can just manually push my wipers up a few inches so they can be lifted without hitting the hood?
No straining at all, they move with ease. I didn't know that you can put them in maintenance mode but doesn't seem a need to when they move so easily and sure not causing any damage doing that as done it several times. |

ok Pat, that seems the reason why they move easiliy then and i guess it makes sense for easy washing.
As you say, probably dry when you are changing wipers so have to put in maintenance mode or just do it while washing the car! |

Thanks for the video, Pat.
Tip: If you're going to remove the wiper blade to replace it, I strongly recommend that before removing the blade, lay a pillow or a thick newspaper on the windshield to protect the point where the wiperless arm would make contact if it accidentally fell. My M3's windshield cracked when it happened to me and the i8's windshield is a whole lot thinner and way more expensive. Better safe than sorry. |
