Considering a new Huracan coupe vs 19 i8 roadster

I’ve had my 16 white on black with laser lights i8 coupe for 29 months or so and am now cross shopping a 19 white huracan 580-2 coupe (I would need a second car for certain things) vs a 19 sophisto gray roadster (I would want a new color although white looks amazing on this car).

The Lamborghini will cost more than double to drive for two years...although I may get some money back if the market holds. Is it really worth it for the NA V10 and badge glory?

Tough call....my childhood dream was to get a lambo. Ironically I would lose the lambo doors in this circumstance

Get the lambo and come back to the I8 when you are sick of the costs.

I’d drive 5000-6000 miles total

Likely an oil change for a few Hundred and tires if I go nuts

The huracan is 90% or something R8 they say. Not much cost on a brand new one the first 2 years w low miles

Definitely not as comfortable or efficient

Follow the dream. Tick it off the list

Come back to a future successor of i8, if it's worth getting vs the competition.

I vote Huracan as well.

You've had an i8 so I am sure you will appreciate the contrast... and as Jas says you can always come back to the i8 if needed.

I too moved on to the huracán- and now have both. (Came back to the i8)

There's a ton of irony involving the huracán. It's a blast to drive. However- it's also more stealth than the i8. I found myself more at ease and at peace driving the huracán/ then the i8 where most days it was a conversation starter and definitely "pestered" if you will (when I was in a bad mood)

I'm sure the aventador is another beast (can't afford that yet haha)- but between the huracán and i8, look at it as a nice break from the "look at me" crowd (outside of cars&coffee crowd) but simply a beast to drive

If you want an "invisible", but very good, car then a Porsche 911 is the one.

But it's not "special".

SugarSkulls: I agree with you here....so dead on. The Huracan is def a HP beast but needs a bright color and wing to get close to the i8 batmobile attention. What color i8 did you get...same as your profile pic?

I haven’t made my decision just yet but I’m going to look at a few more cars tomorrow. The challenge for me is that I will want to drive it daily and the H 2wd is very and rougher with the non-dampering suspension. I also don’t want to pay another huge chunk of change for the spyder, while the i8 will be roofless and a much better deal.

I might just lease the i8R and get an older Ferrari to play with/hold on to since they don’t depreciate- or save for the H spyder.

And I also agree the aventador is the best of all worlds...but lots of apparent reliability issues.

Aventador looks the best, but is the worst to drive IMO.
