I didn't catch that. Good catch for sure and let's hope so.

So much negativity against a vehicle that A does not rival any Tesla. And B fulfills its role as a city vehicle.
For me and probably many others? The BMW i3 is one of the best driving BMW's today.

I understand the philosophy behind it. But it would be good if it would have fit at least 2 adults and 2 kids with some luggage. Right now it's just too small.

why do you need "luggage for four" in a 'CityCar'? Clearly people don't understand its intent and just demand more for the sake of....

If you and your family visit the AirPort that often, buy a bigger limo for 'Alfred' (your butler).. lol

Here's the perfect i3:
500mi electric range
Seats 6
0-60 3.9sec
1/4 10sec
2500lbs
Does your taxes

Anything less and the car is completely useless and no one could ever find a use for it ever in any situation whatsoever.

I hope the things I didn't like after test drives of the i3 are better like poor cornering, sloppy steering on freeways and very poor head lights. I had planned to purchase an i3 but purchased a BMW 225xe plugin as it ticked all my boxes.

Muscle-car enthusiasts or "wobbly cars" will feel very sad that an electric BMW hit him in its acceleration. BMW could produce a faster i3M and i8M with an acceleration like a Tesla, the problem would be very expensive....

H&R spring set on my 2017 i3Rex helped 'Freeway Stability' quite a bit. Needless to say it makes the 'canyons' more fun as well..

Headlights are fine, I'm assuming you mean the HighBeams need improvement.. and i don't disagree. There are many Plug-n-Play LED conversion options available for decent price. I've installed some of those as well.. 2018 i3 comes standard with LED Fog/Highbeams (whatever they are calling them now). Now that I think about it, I think they removed the Fog/HighBeam altogether and its now JUST a trun signal only... I could be wrong.

Who said I need a CityCar?
I need an electric family car and I want it to be a BMW. But right now that's not being offered which is a shame.

Curious to know your definition of a 'Family Car' is.. Technically, a family of four can fit. Albeit 'Compact' family car by definition.

I'ts no cross-country Touring Sedan

5-series touring is a great family car. Just a shame it's not offered with electric drive.

So.. just to put things into perspective. To make that car (5-series Touring) 'electric' you would effectively double the price of that car, assuming you wanted the same 'performance' (Horsepower) out of the PowerTrain required to carry such a large vehicle. Added to that, The Batteries required to support that effort would not fit in the same package space, forcing the vehicle to 'grow' somewhere and/or you would lose some of your precious 'luggage space' most likely.. That's just the way it is with current technology.

I miss my leased REx like CRAZY!
Sometimes I get to drive my better half's CPO BEV.
Love the facelift and especially the s, would love to have a red one.
It gets so old defending this car, it is such an amazing vehicle, love it or hate it, I'll keep loving ours. Likely getting a second CPO BEV for myself in the next few months; they are INSANELY cheap, makes no sense why people are not snapping these up as soon as they hit the lots.

Stupid question, but this seems like a reasonably relevant thread: I assume you can only qualify for the Federal $7,500 tax rebate by buying a NEW BEV, correct?
