With BMW Select, you definitely have to stay on top of the depreciation curve vs true market value, but given the current situation with vehicles, I don't see keeping the car 2 or 3 years to be too much of an issue.

I am hoping BMW does do a $7,500 credit for leases to offset this, I mean, they are getting $7,500 for each i4 that is leased already so I hope they pass it to their customers like the VAG does.

I hope so too, as this would really drop the lease payment

I don't think we can get the $7500 credit. For cars cap is $55K for 2022.

That was part of BBB, which was torpedoed…. Existing law is still in place… so $7500 should be available.

Is BMW Select also offered for longer terms similar to a regular loan? ie, 60 months?

Yes, they offer it up to 60 months, the APR is 1.9% similar to a regular BMWFS loan.

Then the lease payment should be around $200 cheaper on a 36mo lease. I think for leases they give us the credit right away as down payment.

Woooohoooo, I finally got my production number and build week today after 7 months!! I took a spin over to the dealer. Here's my order:

Location: VIRGINIA, USA
Model: i4 M50
Pre-Order Date: June 1, 2021
Email Confirmation: June 8, 2021
Production Number Received: January 15, 2022
Build Specs Entered: January 15, 2022
Build Date: June 6-10, 2022 (Week 23)
Estimated Delivery Date: July or August 2022
Exterior Color: San Remo Green
Interior Color: Cognac Sensatec
Options: Premium Package, Driving Assistance Professional Package, Carbon Fiber Trim (Interior), M Sport Brakes with Red Calipers

I am on the fence about these options: HUD and Harman Kardon Surround Sound System. I was able to successfully add the car to My Garage along with my 2014 i3 REx.

Now I don't feel so as with a week 21 build.
Did you get the 20" wheels?

Congrats! With that production build date, looks like you'll have a 2023 model.

It looks like there isn't any rhyme or reason for the scheduling. Was trying to figure it out, but I give up.
Deposit June 1; assigned a dealer June 2, config Nov 22, Build week and order confirmed Dec 23.

I'm a week 21 build with all options except ventilated seats and exterior carbon.

Tanzanite and Cognac Leather with Carbon Fibre trim.

I know it sounds cliched but you'll love it. I drove a 2013 Nissan Leaf for four years to save up for my M3 and didn't think I would miss a 100hp 90 mile range car so much! It was lowered on coilovers with G35 wheels. Best and most reliable car I have ever owned.

Were you able to confirm BMW Select is available? I contacted my dealer (located in Southern California) and was told that BMW is not offering BMW Select for the i4.

On a side note, I contacted BMWCCA as well in regards to the i4 being on the member's rebate. They said "Unfortunately BMW NA decided not to add the i4 to the 2022 rebate program". Not sure if that would change for the 2023 program in the future.

WTF not part of the rebate program?

Maybe they don't want my membership......

just an update on Penfed, they no longer offer their Penfed depreciation-only loan so BMW Select would be the only way to go, unless Penfed offers it again in the future.
