Tuned/Exhaust Performance Stats...

Hi Gang,

Last week I ran the car with the 22's and had a best time of:

0-60 3.8
1/4 12.2@113

I got my 19 inch snow tires and rims installed yesterday and decided to run it again...today I ran:

0-60 3.8
1/4 12.1@117

Huge jump in trap speed with the rim swap and I really felt it.

Car came with a stage 2 Alex Tune and Fi exhaust.

So close to 11's...haha. Pics of the dragy results.

I'd like to see the results with a set of light weight 18s with summer tires. Pretty confident that would get you into the 11s.

i'm not sure but it does have the stage 2 tune on it, which I believe is just pops and burbles under decel...and it sounds great...lol. i can't imagine the exhaust would add much power though...

I think i can hit an 11.9 with the current setup and race gas. I also wasnt that aggressive with the launch. I need to try and launch on paddle shifting only as the car short shifts first every time. Either way 117 in the 1/4 mile is fantastic for this car.

Zero to 60 website gives these figures for the standard (European?) car.

2015 BMW i8
0-60 mph 3.7
Quarter mile 12.2

the vast majority of reviews have shown a 0-60 time in the 4.4 second range and a mid to high 12 second 1/4 mile at around 110-112mph.

is yours stock? what has your car ran?

Really, I just want to see what an i8 on a functional wheel size looks like. So tired of i8s with downgraded ride quality/handing/braking/acceleration for the sake of bling.

This website seems to take the fastest acceleration from 'official' (read magazine) reviews.
Reading through other makes and models performance figures it seems accurate so I've got no reason to disbelieve its figures.
I believe it's been stated that the European model is slightly faster but I can't remember the reasons.

Always thought 4.4 seconds was 0-62, not 0-60.

I think most of the original magazine/on line reviews haven't tested the acceleration themselves. They have just quoted the official times.

UK reviews: Top Gear- Chris Harris, Carbuyer- Mat Watson, Evo, Autocar and XCar/ Carfection - Alex Goy (probably the best review). None of these video reviews actually tested the acceleration.
