Just picked up an M50

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I’ll try to post some better photos this week but I had placed an order back in September for an iX xDrive50 that got delivered to the Baltimore VPC about three weeks ago and has been stuck there since due to the air bag stop sale.

I did an inventory search within a 200 mile radius and found this blue M50 in Philly about 100 miles away and left a message to confirm availability last night. They call me this morning and sent photos and a video of it and we worked out a deal via email/phone and I went the 2.5 hours up and 2.5 hours back down with it.

Not what I had envisioned but I figure with the X3 that I also have, no point in having two SUVs and should get something fun. The much shorter range is somewhat of a bummer but it’s quite fun to drive and I can use the X3 for longer road trips/hikes.

I’m sure I’ll have questions on features and what not down the road. This car was a cancelled order with all the bells and whistles that got to the dealer on Friday.

Got it at MSRP.

Congrats!

You got a special one with 20" wheels.

I used Truecar and just expanded out the radius.

For the most part, whenever I did come across an M50 and contacted the dealer, I was told it's either a customer order and has been presold or that it's already been sold so your mileage may vary.

Same experience here with True Car versus any other source.
If you don’t mind paying about a grand for shipping then you can have your pick of immediately available M50 configurations.

Thanks.

I had originally put a deposit down on an iX back in September with the expectation I'd take delivery of that.

I had a lot to do yesterday so only drove it from the dealer to America's Tire then to pick up my son and home.

One more drive to my sister's house then home.

I drove the demo car longer than I've driven my own.

So far it's a different level of car compared to anything I've ever owned and almost everything I've driven.

With the interior in my car it feels more 5.series than 3/4. While at the dealership the sales and service staff were drooling. It's definitely a unicorn.

I haven't driven it fast or pushed it. It still feels like driving a loaner. I'm not comfortable yet.

But the steering isn't as vague as the early F series cars. It definitely is heavy but not in a completely bad way. It's planted.

Still a lot to get used to. I'll post my impressions after a week of ownership.

May I know if you could share the build sheet of your i4 M50? I am interested in getting the seats with diamond pattern stitching.

Individual leather gets that stitching.
About $2700 for extended and $3900 for full leather.

Look at the Canadian build sheet and pick something off their sheet you like if you are US. It's easy to get the interior options they offer to Canada.

I paid MSRP ($83K) and interest is 6%…not great but that’s what the going rate is.

Not sure if you are asking me?

My car was fully loaded; no external carbon or ventilated seats. Every other US option was selected.
Also tartufo individual leather and 20" wheels.

My MSRP cam out to be almost $84k.
I paid less due to price protection on a pre-order.
I also got 1.9% as part of the pre-order promotion.

1.9% financing? That’s awesome for right now. Congrats!
