The Mercedes EQS interior
Imagine the fingerprints.
Thank goodness BMW still attempts to stay true to its roots. Makes me grateful and excited to continue driving BMW in the future if this is what the industry is going towards. |

Look at iD8...it's just a matter of time before BMW is doing the same thing.

Very sterile on the inside. If a screen is ever used in a car, it should be at eye level. I get the autonomous push though, in that case I wouldn't care for the info displayed. Give me nice materials instead.

Hard to be that excited with the recent batch of giant hog-nosed grilles coming out of Munich right now.

iDrive 8.0 is literally following in MB's footsteps. Not really staying true to their roots. Removal of buttons and physical controls (HVAC and 8-Presets are gone) in favor of touch sensitive controls (every button on center console is touch capacitive). The next 2-Series Active Tourer was also spotted without an iDrive knob. I wouldn't place my bets on BMW staying true to their roots, and thats just on the inside, their exteriors and driving dynamics are a whole other story.

The MB interior looks gorgeous to me. I'm willing to wipe smudges daily or use voice commands. And I rarely wear sun glasses these days since getting old (~50) kind of reduces the light sensitivity for good or bad.

But BMW continues to make great engines and excellent handling cars. Now if it can only get its design problems fixed....... |

Ambient lighting as always is also very impressive. Definitely a big "wow-factor."

What does everyone think about the seats in the EQS? W223 seats seem similar.
W222 and earlier seats are noticeable different. Has anyone noticed this? Comments? |

That just looks terrible, especially compared to the interior of the S-class. Forget the screen overload, even the shape of the entire unit looks ugly. It's a curvaceous blob. At least the S-class has proper strong lines as a motif in its cabin design.

I think for what Mercedes is branded as, comfort and luxury- That is exactly what the seats will excel in. They look good too.

Just very uninspiring. The idea is great, but the dash execution feels very quick and not there. I guess I might just be an old head. I feel like there is no point for the driver or passenger to need so much information at all times.
The screen is my only problem, as usual Mercedes will have great seats/ space/ door card designs/ etc. |
