Just push them together under the car and drive over them. That's how I store mine. No clearance issues with my cars

works great, great for detailing, as well as the multiple service tasks.

Also lifting a variety of vehicles

They are tough to move, they like to spin on center. Thinking about UHMW for the bottom, or something similar to make sliding them around easier.

Yup, I have the 7000lb one and the frames are HEAVY. Like 100lb each. Certainly a workout to get them from storage on their sides to garage floor.

What is the costco price? Yes I'm being lazy by not actually going in to check, but hey, we've all seen that parking lot.

Is this the EXT or SLX?

Got it. Where do the spread points sit on the jack? I notice on your M2 it looks like it's pretty close to the max point? I'm debating between the 5000EXT and SLX currently.

I think the ext would be close to hitting the tires when not lifted.

The blocks, as I recall are not all the way to the end. I took a look at the measurements on the quick jack site, then measured the lifting points on the vehicles I intended to lift. As I recall, the ext might be a bit high for the lower cars. I think there is about 1" before the blocks start to lift the car.
The EXT would of been fine for my jeep, but the cars I felt the length and height would of been close. That said, my jeep is about 1-2" from lifting the tires off the ground, but still better than a jack and jack stands.

I've got the BL-5000SLX, it has no problems with the M2, the rear block sits around the middle of the frame and the front block I put just in front of the hinge (which splits the front of the frame).

I do sort of wish I'd gone for the EXT since then it would work better for lifting my father's E39 and my brother's Imprezza, both have the lift points slightly further apart than the frames on the SLX can handle.

tux2005 Quickjack is making a SLX Frame Extension Kit that looks promising. I have the 7000SLX and for the bigger cars in the family I might consider getting this.

Nice find! I have not tried lifting the Q7, but I might be in need of this, also!

This would've been handy when I was working on a friend's X5M. I ended up using some long 2x4s I had to do the same thing (the weight was still centered over the original SLX frame as I only needed an extra 1" on each end).

Just ordered the 5000SLX, and will be getting the extension frames for the 535i if the 5000SLX is unable to lift it.

Thanks guys!

That's what I do.

I love the QJ, and have the 5,000 lbs. model. Used it with my RS and works great for my M2.

So last weekend I decided to make some liners for my QuickJack frames so that they'd slide more easily and not scratch up the paint on the bottoms.

I looked for a thermo-formable plastic, and ended up ordering a bunch of 0.093" thick 12"x12" kydex sheets (commonly thermo-formed to make holsters and knife sheaths). The material molds very easily when heated with a heat gun, isn't too brittle when it cools, and maintains it shape pretty darn well. I wrapped them around the frames giving "good enough" coverage IMO. You definitely need to clamp the material the whole length to keep it even when heating up.

So far this weekend I've put three vehicles up on it and the liner is holding up just fine. The frames slide around easier as well, which is convenient.

I put some UHMW tape on the bottom of mine. With the Jeep it moves around a bit initial lifting.

Other than that, makes it easier to slide around as well.

How did we live without these things.

Do you guys just stick their rubber blocks under the factory lift points? Or do you put their blocks down, and then use jack pad adapters on top (the things that go into the proper BMW lift points)?

I just used the blocks, no adapter. They just rest on the square outer edges, and are soft enough to deform a bit, so they don't damage the jack points.

I usually use my hockey puck adapters with the blocks, but have used just the plain blocks before too.

How much clearance is there underneath the car? I'm hoping at least 24".

Haven't measured, but that sounds right. I can lie down on a creeper and go all the way through the car front > back though...
