BMW needs to decrease the 0-60 time regardless. |

Just in time for my lease return next year! I do love the i3, of course I'm a little disappointed at the lack of added range. 97 miles electric only isn't competitive. I get trying to save weight for handling, but if the Bolt can do 238 miles being heavier, I'd be willing so sacrifice some weight for even 3/4 of that electric only range. The REx is still a must for me. The i3s doesn't interest me at all, the current i3 handles just fine and is quick enough for my commute. My F80 quenches my thirst for performance after all! The Tesla 3, if even available when next year around this time, is still the top of my list, with the i3 REx in very close second.

Front spoiler on i3S is aggressive. Not sure if takena touch too far but at least there's some extra output to compensate. Almost like back in the days when people were grafting 1M bumpers to the E90

Is 0-60 time really a concern? It's a golf cart for crying out loud. I think the S looks amazing and would consider one of my driving habits would permit. But I honestly wouldn't choose a rival based on its drag credentials.

The fact that bmw is doubling down on this fail-car is evidence that bmw will never take electric cars seriously

I like the look of the Front Facia of the NonS variant. But it also looks like it has a longer overhang.
Black Fender treatment (typical of BMW performance up models) on the i3S makes it look like a MiniCooper for some reason. nice evolution to the i-line, but doesn't make me want to rush out and trade in my 2017 Rex for one. If i was a first time buyer, would definitely go for the nonS. |

Back when the BMW i3 was first available the i3 hit 60 in 6.8 or 6.9 seconds and then after they where braking motor mounts they Tailored it back to 7 or so seconds to reduce the stress.
So how is the S with more power the same 60 time as the old stock i3 ? Probably right, it may be faster than what they let on. Which seems to be normal for them. |

The Bolt dominates this car in every single metric except styling.

Very nice, i3 remains to be the only electric car I'd like. Really liking the Aero bits and BMW's new fog light design is definitely being put on all their new stuff. Drove a pre LCI at a UDE and I'm still having a hard time the 0-60 time is 6-8 seconds. It just doesn't feel like it. Its not meant to be sporty yet it just pulls from whatever speed.
Didn't I read somewhere though this has less carbon fiber than the original models due to cost cutting?

It sems that they are not going all in on the I3 from previous model wonder if that is due to sales loss on the i3 because of the competition out there now making BMW look a bit obsolete in this segment, Or is it because they are planning an pure i5 so to speak and performance ev sedan with new battery and such so the i3 has to cut costs to finance the new model.
Wonder how long it will take BMW to take this segment seriously before being outrun-ed by the competition so far a head that they will simply fade away in the future. Diesels are dead its plain and simple you can add whatever mixture you want to the thing call it ad blue, ad red whatever but they are dead and gone this needs to be accepted by the general public, and BMW needs to stop putting research and effort in to an technology that hasn't changed sens the 1900th century, Its still fossil fuels witch works by burning diesel/petrol and releasing toxins out the back end. The petrol will be here for a while more but they need to stop putting money on the stupid diesel and move all that research money to the EV department or whatever alternative fuels BMW is working on that we do not know about. One of the worst things i know and this is my personal opinion is sitting outside during the summer and and enjoying a cold one downtown and watching people and cars passing by then seeing a good looking car then when it approaches you hear that got damn clicking/tractor sound of a diesel engine it just ruins a car. Sports cars should never ever be diesels maybe petrol/hybrid ev's but not diesel. Diesels are for excavators, trucks and farming equipment. But not good looking cars. |
