I used Bimmercode to turn on the REx manually (after 75%), but I've noticed that when my range gets low, the REx does NOT turn on by itself anymore. Anyone else encounter this?

I'm wondering if it was this setting:

Range Extender activation battery level
Available in KOMBI FPK_I12, KOMBI_I01_F56

I don't use Bimmercode, but there is a value that can be set that dictates when REX kicks in automatically. Default value is 6 (% of SOC remaining).

Alter Range Extender activation battery capacity level:
3000 ->SOC_HOLD_POS werte = hex value xx
Units are 0.5% -- default = 0C which is 6% ie. 18 = 12%


If you had accidentally set it to a lower value, or 0, that would produce the outcome you are describing.

Mine was set to 12% so I set it back to 6%. I'm going to let the battery go low to see if it kicks in.

I used bimmercode to change mine to 12% but it didn't work either. The little pointer is sitting at 12% on the SOC gauge but the REX doesn't start. I haven't let the charge get back down to 6% but I expect that it will start then. Seems that we can't change this value with bimmercode.

Confirmed. I coded it back to 6% and the Range Extender now turns on automatically at 6% again. Hopefully the next update will fix this.

Who do you know what’s the problem about I have coded the soc range manually, but I clicked it, the rex don’t run.

In my 2014, the REX was coded to be MANUALLY available once the SOC was below 75%. It won't come on automatically, you would need to assign a media button preset to operate the feature. The auto 6% is the factory standard.
