For anyone who hasn't been to Hong Kong recently. Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated and most vertical cities in the world. There was a huge initiative to get cars off the roads in Hong Kong. The drivers license has a huge cost to entry and a very difficult test. Registration is even bigger, I think it's around 10k to register your car. All cars also have a huge tax. In Hong Kong, the only cars you see are super cars for the rich and wealthy.

In California, I've seen prices ranging from US$15,000- $45,000 above MSRP. On an i8 with a terra option, as an example, you would be looking at a minimum, based on adding the lower premium figure of US$15K to the MSRP, of US$155,000 before tax, title and license or HK$1.2015 Million. If the bloom is ever off the rose (very difficult to foresee due to the current production numbers) on the i8, then we're probably looking at US $139-140K. Good hunting on getting a reasonably priced i8 in HK! Last edited by YWGT3; 04-16-2015 at 05:39 PM.. |
