Three, USA built, proprietary 18" drivers configured in a triangular array to eliminate reactive forces
4000W RMS / 8000W Peak amplifier with DSP - made in USA
Satin black texture cabinets - made in the USA
15Hz-200Hz +/-3dB (7Hz-11Hz typical in-room extension)
CEA-2010 RATINGS

Ultra-low bass (20-31.5 Hz): 121.7dB
Low bass (40-63Hz): 135.7dB
Personally felt like Velodyne was the best bang for the buck when I auditioned them. PS was ok. Not bad, not great. I ended up with Paradigm sub 12. It really is all about auditioning and what sounds best in the room. I think people always forget that wiring, power conditioning, and amps is just as important if not more then the the speakers itself.

True. I only go to the movies maybe once or twice a year for movies I REALLY want to see. I do notice I have the same issue when the movie first starts I feel it's usually way too loud especially in a movie with a lot of action. However I also think I get use to it because I don't recall ever complaining about it after I leave, only at the start.

Doesn't change the fact that all my speakers at home sound good enough for their purpose. Why would I want anything more than my old PC speakers in my garage where I just have music playing in the background over the noise of vacuum, tools etc. I don't need to hear the grain of the wood or whatever in my patio where I have the sonos for background music when we have a BBQ or something. We watch movies in the living room so I have the better setup there because I care a little more. The 5.1 in my office is basically just for gaming.

But hey I would also take the steak at my local Mexican joint with rice, beans and an enchilada for $12 over a $50 dry aged steak any day... and yes I've had both.

If audio stuff is your "thing" then cool, by all means buy the best shit you can get. However I see no reason to come on here to just to shit on someone else's setup.
You're still not getting that the Sonos isn't even good for the money. They are sold as home theater replacements. As I said, it's only good if you need a wireless setup. You could spend the same money for a 5.1 setup and get a better result.

BTW, many movie theaters lack good sound because of poor maintenance, poor speakers, and poor calibration.

Many of these audiophile snobs play 256kbps mp3s on a > 10 k system. Sad.

Who cares if Sonos is or isn't good? Different strokes for different folks. If someone is happy with their system then let it be. We all get that you think Sonos sucks. It's just tiring to see the same message repeatedly for the 100th time in this thread. We all have different opinions and that's fine, let it be. I mean, you shit on Sonos yet praised Apple EarPods. That's not any less gimmicky than Bose or any other brands that you've mentioned.

Well, it's like any loud environment. Your brain adjusts to it but doesn't mean it's not doing damage to your hearing. It's similar to going to a night club.

Better sounding than sonos on the cheap.
Problem with Bluetooth connected speakers is the constant interruptions. For example if you have it connected with your phone for Music play, everytime you get a text, email, or any other notifications the play gets interrupted.

I think you may be pissing up a rope here. He has deemed Sonos as garbage. The fact that Sonos routinely get 4 and 5 star reviews is not relevant because they are not as good as what he's got. The logic is pretty simple really.

Yes this is what I like about the sonos. Plus after you set the music you can pretty much put away your phone and it keeps going. During the winter I actually setup the sonos in the patio to start playing when I open the sliding glass door and stop when I close it.

Not a problem if streamed on tablet.

Airpods, and I already indicated I was biased because I'm an investor.

Airpods actually do have the best pairing functionality of any truly wireless headphones I've seen. No one said they had amazing sound, because no wireless earbuds will. They also work with other non-Apple devices.

No, it's not good because it costs $2,000 and has inferior sound. Has nothing to do with what I have. Sonos isn't even in the same league as my system both in sound and in price, so I wouldn't expect it to compete.

Bose routinely gets 4 and 5 star reviews and nearly every audiophile will tell you they are garbage for the price.

I just have it connected to my smartthings hub and have a sensor on the door. Also have the patio lights come on when opening the door at night. You can do a lot of cool stuff with all the home automation stuff out there.

Interesting timing w/ this thread. I was recently looking at these from Sonos and was going to start comparing them to Klipsch's counterparts since I'm a bit of a Klipsch fan.

Klipsch makes good higher end stuff and are very sensitive.

You can't buy good taste. All joking aside, I believe Sonos is great for being one of the only options to integrate a multi-room music system with ease. If I were to go this route, I would get a separate 5.1, not from sonos, and a bunch of play 1s for around the house. And maybe buy the amp so they work together. No Bose anywhere because I believe I could find better sound for less money.

Pick up a pair of these and call it a day. No audiophile will ever be able to say anything negative.

Well, since I don't call myself an audiophile, I'll say something negative about them. I looked up the specs on this speaker and it won't work for 99.99% of the target market being discussed here. It's a near-field speaker. So unless you watch movies or listen to music in a recording studio with the speaker right next to you, buying this speaker will be a total waste of your money. And I haven't even gone into the sound quality of it.
